We live close, so we spent the weekend at this Ritz in Tysons for a spa weekend staycation… This review will be on the spa and facilities only tho…

The spa for being at a Ritz and for being in a very hi-end, busy, popular area is way too small! I checked in, which was nice as they offered me a glass of champagne. They told me where to go next, which was to the gentleman’s locker room and then go to the quiet room. I quickly found the locker room, but upon entering was taken aback by how small the locker room was. There’s a single bench in the middle and all the lockers I saw right there were all there were. So, if more than 2 guys were checking in or using the locker room at once, they would be bumping into each other. I didn’t know where the fresh robes and slippers were, since no one previously informed me, but I quickly figured where they both were. But there were also plenty of used slipper, robes, and towels laying around that no one had tended to yet.

I disrobed, put on the robe and then sought out the quiet room… I had a hard time finding it because the room that “appeared” to be it was so tiny and had 2 women in it taking up the whole room with their loud conversation, I didn’t think that was it, so I walked back out to the receptionist to ask and she told me that room was, in fact the quiet room. I went in and fortunately the “chatty Cathy’s” quieted down and moved closer to each other, but when two more ladies came up, there was nowhere for them to sit, so they sat on ottomans. Ridiculous accommodations here!!

Fortunately I didn’t have to wait long and my therapist came to get me. He was helpful, friendly, and definitely very professionally skilled in massage therapy! I had an 80 minute session, which was painful at times, but I also appreciate a therapeutic massage. After the massage, I went back to the locker room to take a shower and then hit the hot tub and pool.

The hot tub and pool area was pretty big, especially compared to the locker room and other areas of the spa. The temperature in the hot tub was spot-on, perfect for relaxing in there. The only issue was the horrible amount of chlorine they used… It literally took an entire day to get that smell out of my nose! The pool was clean and very nice and the temperature was great! Not cold at all!

Overall, I enjoyed the massage and the pool area but didn’t feel as relaxed as I should have (people need to know to SHUT UP when in a spa) and comfortable as I should have, due to the small spaces. But it was still very nice.

The spa visit was mediocre. For a Ritz property I expected more. The reception area is small. No one told you where to go or what to expect. They just expected you to walk around and find it. The customer service was subpar. The relaxation room is tiny. For the number of people the spa serviced when my friend and I were there, the relaxation room was not accommodating. Six women were already standing and sitting around chatting very loudly. There was no room for others. My friend and I started 50 minute massages at the same time and my therapist finished 30 minutes into it. The pool and sauna were completely full and it was super messy. I’ve had way better massages and accommodations with superior service elsewhere. This was my first and last time going.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and updated. Sevice was great. The spa was wonderful. Room service was quick. Turn down service was nice after a long day. Had afternoon tea at Entyce which was a great experience. Entyce staff were great. They easily accomodate my food due to allergies. Will be coming back to stay in the future.

This is my fifth or sixth time visiting the ritz Carlton spa and my expectations are almost always exceeded. Our technicians were fereba and Mona who took great care of us during our pedicures. And a huge huge thank you to Wafa who made our visit more than exceptional with her excellent customer service!

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE SPA ONLY.

I live close by and come here for massages and facials and the sauna. I love a sauna. Unfortunately their waiting room is not what one wants with a spa. It's very small, only has seating for 4, very cramped seating and you can heat people in the manicure/pedicure room the entire time. In addition the hall to the pool has no door so you can also hear hotel guests heading to/from the pool. I usually hang out in the sauna until it's time for my treatments.

They do offer a drink when you check in and will show you to the locker room but other than that you kinda feel unattended to. Noone comes in to make sure the tea water is hot.. or discard of half drunk champagne glasses.

If noone is ar the pool (which is often), its a lovwly space to sit and relax. You cant depend on that obviously. There could be kids doing cannonballs.

I've given 4 stars because EVERY. SINGLE. technician I've had has been amazing. They clearly are thoughtful about who they hire.
